4.14 Detroit Vipers - WR Chris Harper

In the real world: Harper, a fourth-round pick by the Seahawks, has Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin in front of him. But Tate becomes an unrestricted free agent after 2013, and Baldwin will be a restricted free agent. Harper, who started his college football career as a quarterback at Oregon, has only been playing wide receiver since 2010. But at 6'1", 228 lb., he has the size, strength, hands and aggressiveness to be a #2 (possession) receiver in the NFL, and has 4.5 speed. Maybe he could be another Anquan Boldin (like Harper, Boldin converted from QB to WR in college, and is about the same size). The main reasons he didn't produce much in college were that K-State had a run-heavy offense and his QB wasn't terribly accurate. In any case, he'll have a much better QB throwing to him now in Russell Wilson.
In the TUFF world: The Vipers have added a whopping four wide receivers in this draft--Hunter, Bailey, Wilson and now Harper--as they seek to restore the depth they had at that position a few years ago (you know, before 2010, when Donnie Avery tore his knee, and Chris Chambers, Jerricho Cotchery and Randy Moss all fell off cliffs).
