3.05 Tennessee Taz Devils - WR Tavarres King

In the real world: The Denver Broncos didn't have much in the way of depth beyond their starting three (Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Eric Decker), so they needed to come away from the NFL Draft with at least one receiver, and that was King. He has 4.40 speed and averaged over 22 yards a reception with Georgia last year, but dropped passes, ball skills and less-than-ideal bulk are reasons why he dropped to Round 5.
In the TUFF world: Lonnie Daniel confided to me that he wanted Stedman Bailey, the receiver I took at 3.03. You could think of King as a "homer" pick because King, in addition to having played at Georgia, is from Mount Airy, Georgia; and Daniel, as you may know, hails from Georgia himself (he is a Georgia Tech man). I was surprised Lonnie didn't go with a quarterback like Tyler Wilson or Ryan Nassib, if only because his #2 quarterback, Jake Locker, is on the hot seat himself due to accuracy issues.
